Home Energy Savings for Renters

We had such a large response in e-mails when I wrote the Cutting Your Heating Bill entry, I wanted to share a FREE community opportunity for those of you who continue to want to learn more.  Spark! the energy initiative of the Charlottesville Community Design Center, is putting on a second workshop on reducing your carbon footprint and energy use.

Wednesday, February 18th from 6-7:15 p.m. at the Charlottesville Community Design Center, Spark! will hold Home Energy Savings for Renters.

The workshop is designed to help renters improve the comfort of their home while saving money and energy.  They will highlight what strategies will be the best financial investments, how to work with your landlord, free and low-cost opportunities and what is available right here in our community to help you.

I encourage homeowners and renters alike to attend, have your questions answered and learn how to save a little green.

I attended this workshop in January and my landlord will be attending the one this week. He didn’t realize the cost savings he could receive by some of the small updates. If you’re considering going, go. It was a big benefit to me.
